Joy Ruwodo
Head of the Shared Value Africa Gender Equality Unit
Joy is the Head of the Shared Value Africa Gender Equality Unit and a seasoned gender equality and global health expert with over 20 years of experience driving transformative change across diverse sectors. Joy was part of the team and Steering Committee that developed the SVA Gender Equality Implementation Guide. Additionally, she is the co-creator of the IFC Respect@Work programme content and the lead trainer. She leverages her deep expertise as a trainer, communicator, and strategist to design impactful interventions, spearhead advocacy campaigns, and orchestrate global communications efforts that advance gender equality, combat violence against women and girls, and improve global health outcomes.
Adept at forging strategic partnerships, facilitating dialogues, and influencing policy, Joy translates complex issues into engaging content, skilfully delivers training programs, moderates high-level events, and builds collaborative relationships with stakeholders. Fuelled by a passion for equity and empowerment, she strives to break the cycle of violence, envision a world free from gender-based violence and disease, and inspire communities to be catalysts for positive change.
